BREED STANDARD
What does an Abyssinian Cat look like? It has to be said that the cats
vary across the world, but as the Abyssinian Cat Club is affiliated to the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) it is this Standard we outline here.

ABYSSINIAN COLOURS
There are 28 different colours currently recognised by the
GCCF.
Most of these have been developed within the last 30 years, are seen very rarely and do not
yet have Championship status. This section gives the official description (from the Standard
of Points) and there are also photos of the colours most often seen.

CELEBRITY ABYS
The first Abyssinians to be awarded the titles of Grand Champion and
Grand Premier, and other notable cats.
