Show Manager's Report below
HOT COMPETITION !
The hottest day of the year was an appropriate day for the hot
competition at the 22nd Championship Show of the
Abyssinian Cat Club in Stratford Upon Avon on 18th June.
Entries were up on recent years. Thank you to everyone who supported
us by entering a cat. They all looked beautiful. We were proud to be
one of the first shows ever to offer Imperial Grand Challenge and
Imperial Grand Premier certificates – for both Abyssinians and
Somalis.
Thank you to Tim and Sue for vetting in again this year – it’s
always good to see you. The day ran very smoothly thanks to my
hardworking committee and volunteers. The judges had a busy day –
especially Mrs Anderson (I did contemplate binding her Judge’s Book
in two volumes !) – but all the results arrived steadily at the
table where Helen Parkin and team processed them efficiently. This
meant we could start overall Best In Show at 3.30pm and give the
winners time to enjoy their success.
Many thanks to Joye Jones and her team for working tirelessly to
produce a wonderful lunch and to produce so many breakfasts and teas
for the exhibitors.
Many thanks (again this year) to Eileen, Mike, Rob and Welly for the
amazing raffle – it was another record breaker. Special thanks
to David and Lois, Cheryl and Gerald, Norman, Carole, Shirley, Sue,
Eric, Kay, Ron and Barbara for all their help. Thank you to Pat and
Rob for the smooth running of the trophy awards.
Congratulations to all the winners. We hope to return to the Parish
Centre next year (Saturday 17th June 2006) subject to
availability and GGCF permission.
